Complaints Procedure
We aim to offer all clients an efficient and effective service. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, or about your bill, you should raise it first with the person supervising your matter.
If you feel that this is inappropriate, or you are not happy with the response then please put your complaint in writing, in compliance with our complaint’s procedure (a copy is available on request), addressed to the Head of Chambers, Mr Aurang Zeb by post to our main office. We will promptly and thoroughly investigate any complaint you may have. If you are not satisfied with our handling of your complaint, you can ask the Legal Ombudsman Service to consider the complaint. The Legal Ombudsman can be written to at PO Box 6806 Wolverhampton WV1 9WJ.
The website address is www.legalombudsman.org.uk, the e-mail address is enquiries@legalombudsman.org.uk and the telephone number is 0300 555 0333. Normally you need to bring a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman within six months of receiving a final written response from us about your complaint or within six years if the act or omission about which you are complaining (or if outside of this period, within three years of when you should reasonably have been aware of it). In relation to your bill, you may also have the right to apply to the Court for an assessment of it but if you do the Legal Ombudsman may not consider a complaint about a bill. A link to the decision data from the Legal Ombudsman website can be accessed here: https://www.legalombudsman.org.uk/raising-standards/data-and-decisions/#ombudsman-decision-data and a link to the Barrister’s Register page can be accessed here: https://www.barstandardsboard.org.uk/for-the-public/search-a-barristers-record/the-barristers-register.html
